Joe Ankers popped over to Manchester this weekend for a number of important reasons. One was to celebrate Harley’s 19th birthday, and the other was to get the rear quarter damage repaired on his beloved PS13 Onevia.
If you’ve been following the blog for the last few months, you’ll remember that Joe gave his rear quarter a good beating on his way to a 5th place qualifying position at the Lydden Hill round of last year’s BDC.
He eventually got round to arranging for the repair of his daily driver’s bodywork and delivered the car to Karl and the guys at BM Autobodies in Bury a few days ago.
He picked it up again on Friday afternoon and I think it’s fair to say that, to the untrained eye, you’d be none the wiser. I originally feared that the entire quarter would be loaded with filler and smoothed over, but that hasn’t been the case. The entire panel has been beaten out to a great standard, with just a light skim of filler needed over the top.
I can’t wait to see the car’s new look in a few weeks time…even if it means Joe has to rock the custard facelift bumper in the meantime.
