I love revisiting old photo folders on my hard drives as I always find pictures that I never got round to editing the first time round. Here are a handful of leftovers that I’ve just found from my trip to Meihan Sportsland back in September 2016.
First of all, apologies for the delay with this blog post! I’ve spent the last couple of weeks releasing videos from this event before posting any words, which leads me onto my second point. If you haven’t watched my video from Rockingham’s Meihan layout the other week, check it out before reading any further. It should help to give you some insight into the type of drift day that this ended up being.
On Sunday I headed down to Rockingham with Adam for another of their outer paddock practice days. Once again I’d be watching from the sidelines rather than driving myself but, having managed a whole hour of sleep the night before, I wasn’t too fussed.
Considering how many stylistic routes you can take with an S-body, it’s always amazing how much a small feature can define a car. In the case of Mike‘s S14 and Rory‘s S13, their choice to run 15″ wheels is very much the headline when it comes to discussing their cars.
On Sunday I headed down to Rockingham for another of their fantastic Outer Paddock drift days. I was gutted not to be driving but, with so many cool cars in attendance, I was looking forward to watching the action and filming some good footage (make sure you check out my video here).
As I mentioned in a previous post, I headed down to the Japanese Performance Show in Coventry on a bit of a whim the other weekend to see what was what with the Japanese aftermarket scene nowadays. While said Japanese cars might be my preferred segment of the modified car scene in general, I typically find myself sticking within the drifting partition and not paying too much attention to the show and track segments. I feel I should start spreading my attention more to help me fully appreciate what other enthusiasts are up to.
