INSTALLING REAR LUGGAGE BARS ON A SUZUKI JIMNY (2021+) LCV 2-SEATER

A question we commonly get asked is if the Rear Luggage Bars for Suzuki Jimny (2018+) and Cargo Roof Net for Suzuki Jimny (2018+) can be installed in the two-seater 2021+ Suzuki Jimny LCV model with the original partition grid installed. The short answer is, yes!

In the conventional 3-door Jimny with four seats, the Rear Luggage Bars replace the rear passenger grab handles. These grab handles aren't present in the two-seater LCV model but the holes are still there, meaning that the Rear Luggage Bars can still be installed.

In order to do so, the first step is to remove the grey plastic blanking plug that occupies the rearmost hole. This is best done by using a plastic trim removal tool.

The next step is to remove the bolt that secures the Suzuki partition grid to the car. Once removed, you can begin installing the first of your Rear Luggage Bars.

The original bolt can be refitted, albeit with one of the Luggage Bar mounting brackets in place.

Please note: if you have already removed the OEM partition grid from your Jimny, you can ignore this step and simply use the bolt supplied with the Luggage Bars to install the frontmost mounting bracket.

The rearmost Luggage Bar mounting bracket can be installed using the supplied bolt. The rest of the installation can then continue as per the supplied instructions.

It's worth taking time to position the Luggage Bars so that they don't touch or interfere with the partition grid during use, as this might result in some rattling when driving. Try to position the Luggage bars at least a few millimetres away from the partition grid.

Please note: if you have modified your partition grid to mount it further rearwards, there might not be enough space for the Luggage Bars to be mounted successfully. 

With the Luggage Bars in position, you can complete the installation with the supplied plastic trim pieces just as you would on a regular non-LCV Jimny. You can then begin to install a Cargo Roof Net for Suzuki Jimny (2018+), should you wish to do so.
