We love a kei car here at STL. Since 2021, our trusty Honda Vamos has been our go-to jack-of-all trades vehicle; it's been a delivery van, a camper van, a people carrier and a show car!
However, with more and more customers reaching out to us regarding kei truck parts, we decided to take the plunge and purchase one of these diminutive pick-ups for ourselves. We're pleased to introduce our new 2024 Mitsubishi Minicab 4WD Kei Truck!
Kei cars are a unique class of vehicle in Japan. Restricted to a maximum engine size of 660cc and dimensions of 3.4x1.48m, for years they have won over the hearts of those who grow ever-more weary of car designs that seem to swell in size with each passing year.
As full-size pick-up trucks become more and more expensive here in the UK, we are seeing an increase in demand for these miniature kei trucks. They are finding homes on farms, campsites, country parks and other rural locations that require a practical, reliable and affordable vehicle.
Unlike quad bikes or ATVs, they are just as at home on the motorway as they are in the fields - especially if they are a 4WD model, like the 2024 Mitsubishi Minicab that we've just purchased!
We already offer a selection of
kei car wheels but we are keen to expand our product range and test some new items on our new Minicab. However, the first port of call will definitely be a new set of wheels
(either 12 or 14", we haven't decided yet) to replace the existing steelies with an accompanying set of all-terrain tyres.
With selectable high/low 4WD, rear diff lock and an LED work light, we can't wait to take it on some green lanes and around some fields!
Even though it is badged as a Mitsubishi, this kei truck is actually built by Suzuki in Japan. You'll find very similar looking Suzuki Carrys online.
