To the casual observer, the JB74 3-door Suzuki Jimny has remained largely unchanged since its release in 2018. After all, why would Suzuki want to change a car that is a global sales success! However, there have been a number of subtle changes made over the years, culminating in the latest "Series 5" model.
Introduced in Japan in late 2025, the Series 5 model brings a number of new features to the table. While most of the revisions Suzuki have made over the past few years have been fairly inconsequential, the Series 5 model's new features are very important when it comes to considering upgraded parts for your new Jimny.
As always, if you have any questions, please get in touch.

What's changed?
Front bumper - introduction of front parking sensors and central radar sensor.
Why does it matter? Existing aftermarket front bumpers, such as those from DAMD and APIO, do not support these new sensors. Updated versions of these front bumpers will soon be available with Series 5-specific fitting kits. Please bear this in mind when ordering an aftermarket front bumper for your car and inform us of your requirements when ordering.

Dashboard - larger display between speedometer/rev counter, addition of fuel gauge needle, new larger head unit/radio.
Why does it matter? No known compatibility issues with new larger display between speedometer/rev counter. New larger head unit/radio will prevent the usage of some parts such as JIMNYSTYLE Central Dashboard Storage Tray for Suzuki Jimny (2018+).

The instrument cluster now features a much larger colour display. Previously, the fuel gauge was digital, but it's now a physical needle located within the speedometer (bottom right of image)
Rear bumper - addition of integrated parking sensors moulded into the underside of the rear bumper (this was introduced on the Series 4 model).
Why does it matter? Existing aftermarket rear bumpers, such as those from DAMD and APIO, do not support the new parking sensor locations as standard. Separate fitting kits are available from DAMD to support the installation of the parking sensors in their existing rear bumpers. APIO rear bumpers require additional drilling in order to fit the parking sensors. Please bear this in mind when ordering an aftermarket rear bumper for your car and inform us of your requirements when ordering.

On Series 4 & 5 rear bumpers, the parking sensors are integrated into a moulded lower section of the bumper. On previous models, the sensors were located on either side of both tail lights.
Suspension - removal of rear axle-controlled automatic self-levelling (confirmed on JDM and GCC models, other regions TBC).
Why does it matter? Previously, when installing a suspension lift kit on a JB74 Jimny with LED headlights, a headlight adjustment bracket was required to ensure that the headlights would continue to self-level correctly post-suspension lift. This is no longer required as LED headlight levelling is now controlled manually by a switch on the dashboard.

In the top left corner of the photo, you can see the two-hole bracket that the automatic LED headlight self-levelling system would be connected to on previous models.
Other considerations (we will update this as new information becomes available):
Front windscreen - different to previous generation JB74 3-door models due to upgraded safety systems (if you have a Japanese-import Series 5 model in the UK, you can't replace the windscreen with a UK-specific replacement windscreen).
New colours - "Pure White Pearl" has been introduced, alongside the original "Superior White". Be careful when ordering colour-matched/painted body parts.
